If there’s one thing that amazes me, it’s finding out that a product actually lives up to what it’s supposed to do. For example, if someone says that a drink is going to be the best I’ve ever tasted, I expect it to be just that. I also feel the same when I go to restaurants and hear a server tell me that they have the best version of a famous dish in their respective city. Unfortunately for me, though, most of these situations never measure up to what they’re supposed to give — and that also includes tools and appliances that I use in my own kitchen.

To me, there’s truly nothing worse than spending money on a fancy new piece of cookware that promises all of the bells and whistles that I need, only to be met with severe disappointment. In most cases, I’m only looking for three simple things when it comes to cookware: design, functionality, and price. And honestly, is that too much to ask?

For some brands the answer to that question is absolutely yes, but Drew Barrymore‘s Beautiful cookware seems to have nailed that for me. And as someone who has been a fan of the brand for some time now, I’m really not surprised.

Adding to its already impressive line of kitchenware (like a 5-in-1 skillet and a stand mixer), the brand’s 12-piece cookware set recently got new look so everything is much sleeker and fresh. The set is equipped with both an 8- and 10-inch fry pan, a 2-quart saucepan, 3-quart sauté pan, 5-quart Dutch oven, three lids, and four cookware protectors. It comes in four gorgeous colors (Black Sesame, Cornflower Blue, Sage Green, and White Icing) and just like the other items that fall under the brand’s umbrella, is reasonably priced, as the entire set costs right under $150. So, with both the design and price portion of my hunt immediately out of the way, all that was left to do was give it a true try.

After receiving the full set in the Sage colorway, I couldn’t wait to see if it hit the last point on my list. And as I expected, it most definitely did. Sticking to its nonstick promise, the ceramic cookware set really gave me something to be excited about while cooking.

The first thing I gave a try was the 8-inch frying pan while making a quick sandwich for lunch. I used minimal butter for my bread and didn’t grease the pan. Y’all, when I say my sandwich slid all around that frying pan! There was literally no sticking involved. And while the frying pan gave me a bit of jolt to want to be in the kitchen more, it’s the Dutch oven that really stole the show.

Using the 5-quart offering as a one-pot answer to making my famous chili, I immediately fell in love with the way that it evenly heated each ingredient for my recipe. More impressively, nothing — and I mean nothing — was stuck to the bottom of the Dutch oven during the cooking process or when reheating on the stove in the days after for leftovers. Of course, when I took it out of the fridge before reheating, there was a bit stuck the sides. Once I finally finished it off (about two days later), however, the cleaning process was one of the easiest I’ve ever had.

While I only used my pieces on the stovetop, for those who desire to place either of the pieces in the oven, you’re safe in that department too, as each item — including the lids — is oven-safe up to 500°F. It can even be used on an induction cooktop and it’s dishwasher-safe, although I would recommend washing by hand to preserve the longterm look of each piece.

So if you’re wondering whether or not this set will be in constant rotation for me, the answer is — without a doubt — yes. And much like my Beautiful One-Touch Electric Tea Kettle, it’s destined to get very good use.
