It’s no secret that instant coffee isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of, well, coffee. Most of us had an icky experience trying the stuff out of the red container when we were younger and have since banned the quick caffeine fix. However, more and more craft coffee brands have been changing the game and have finally done instant coffee some justice. If you know me, I’ve been on the instant coffee bandwagon for a few months now. I first started to change my mind about this type of coffee when I tried Partner’s instant coffee, and haven’t been able to stop drinking the luscious blend. More recently, Blue Bottle Coffee joined in on the action and sent me their new Craft Instant Espresso — and I’m already due for a restock. It’s my new go-to drink in the morning, and while it takes just a few minutes to prep (mostly waiting for my kettle to heat up), it certainly doesn’t taste instant.

This fancy instant espresso packs a punch — both in aroma and caffeine level. Seriously, the first time I sipped on Blue Bottle’s instant espresso, I felt like the Energizer Bunny. I got all my tasks done and then some in record time! The espresso comes in the form of gorgeous crystals that offer a bolder flavor than traditional instant coffee. Not to mention, it’s almost too pretty to consume.

The jar makes 12 consistently decadent servings however you prefer — hot or iced. While the instructions say to add milk to drink it hot, I use hot water — you can use whatever you like best, though! With notes of dark chocolate, molasses, and toasted malt, this darker roast is a dream to sip on and smell. It makes my kitchen smell just like a coffee shop.

If you’ve been thinking about investing in a pricey espresso machine, you just might think again once you taste this bottle of barista-worthy goodness. It’s fast, easy, and tastes just like your favorite coffee shop’s cup. Plus, it’ll save you some precious coin because you’ll feel less tempted to treat yourself to that $8 latte on the daily. As you can see, my jar is nearly empty, so that’s all you really need to know about Blue Bottle’s Craft Instant Espresso.
