The summer weather is behind us, but that doesn’t mean the days to sit back and enjoy a nice cold treat are over. A good ice cream shake knows no season — especially one as decadent as @cafemaddy’s ice cream sandwich milkshake. And the best part? This recipe can be made with little effort.
In the video, Cafe Maddy mentions that she thought of the recipe in college. If I were coming up with recipes like this back in college, I would have actually made friends in school. But as my logic goes, it’s never too late to have a good time, so after grabbing the ingredients from the store, I got to work.
How to Make the Ice Cream Sandwich Milkshake
Place the ice cream sandwiches in a blender and grab the milk of your choice. (I used creamy oat milk for added texture and thickness.) Blend for a few minutes while adding milk until the shake reaches your desired consistency. Next, top with whipped cream.
This portion of the recipe is where you can experiment with toppings. In her video, Maddy grated something I quickly assumed was chocolate. I love chocolate, so I made it rain dark chocolate all over the whipped cream. And that was it. It was that easy. It took me longer to drink the shake than it did to make it.
My Honest Review of the Ice Cream Sandwich Milkshake
It makes sense that ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes would come together to create an even more fantastic treat. This milkshake was smooth and creamy, and the bitterness of the chocolate shavings went well with the sweetness of whipped cream. Next, I’ll experiment with different ice cream sandwiches, such as mint chocolate chip or strawberry, to make other flavored shakes. I will make this again soon when I’m in the mood for a milkshake, dessert, or anything sweet.
